Tilt Global™

We empower change

Our Decision Making Lab, a strategy super-accelerator for leadership teams, helps them navigate, adapt, and thrive in the complex, uncertain, and fast-changing energy transition.

Whether you are a utility company, another player in the energy sector, or an enterprise whose business is dependent on smart energy choices, we empower your team to make better, faster decisions in the face of uncertainty.

Why we exist

Enterprise leaders, especially in fast-evolving environments, experience significant challenges for strategic decision making.

The decision-maker cannot avoid standing on a threshold separating the past from the future.

A hand interrupting a series of blocks falling like dominoes

At Tilt Global, we believe that most business enterprises struggle to draw fully upon the knowledge that is available in the people who comprise the organization. And we are committed to helping enterprises to institutionalize a new way of approaching decision making in complex, disruptive business environments. In fact, we think there are very few enterprises that do not face such environments.

How we help and what we do

We create a safe, realistic setting that enables teams to engage in the practice of gathering, organizing, and interpreting information from a variety of sources and encourage them to experiment with possible strategic courses of action.

Our Decision Making Lab (DML) is an immersive experience for an executive team to build clarity of purpose, confidence in action, and acute attention to adapting plans to changing conditions. And we know it works: we have proved it and refined it over the past 30 years serving more than 25 significant clients worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you focus on the energy transition?

Our focus is not in the energy transition per se but on the challenges of decision-making in a fast-evolving context. We selected this context because the energy transition…

  1. …is a human response to the global phenomenon of climate change. The experience of the DML therefore has a contemporary relevance.
  2. …is a context that is challenging anyone and everyone to make sense of what is happening and what to do about it. The energy transition is complicated and fast changing so it is understandable that decision-makers may get confused, even if they don’t want to admit it.
Do you work with organizations that are not in the energy sector?

Yes! The energy transition applies to the entire energy value chain, which includes consumers of energy not just the energy miners/generators, transporters, and utilities. Transportation, manufacturing, heavy industry, retail, data centers, automotive – all of these industries and more, including the financial services organizations that serve them, are all impacted by the energy transition and can benefit from a Decision Making Lab set in that context.

Can the Decision Making Lab be customized?

Yes! In fact, every DML is customized. Three levels of customization are possible:

  • Standard: Our team works with you to calibrate the DML to your company’s needs. What disruption(s) does your team need to practice? What are the strategic challenges your team is facing right now? Prior to executing the DML, we work through these questions with you to make sure the DML addresses your unique needs. These calibrations are included in the price of the DML.
  • Deluxe: If your company requires more extensive customizations, such as a larger number of companies in the simulation or additional geographic regions, we can adapt the DML simulation to accommodate your needs for a fee.
  • Bespoke: Although we believe the energy transition is relevant for nearly all organizations, there are teams operating in fast-evolving contexts that have nothing to do with the response to climate change. The Decision Making Lab is fully customizable to any industry context.
