The Tilt Global team is comprised of balanced group of five co-founders in the US and Switzerland with deep energy industry and academic experience, a COO with deep experience in software, a council of advisors, and a team of market specialists in three regions.

Our History: A Timeline

Tilt Global is the 3^rd generation of CEO and Co-Founder Dr. David Gautschi’s decision analytics approach, delivered and refined by empowering management teams across the world in a range of industries.

First Generation: Origin Story

1986	David Gautschi co-founds Prism Sarl at the encouragement of INSEAD in Fontainbleau, France, to commercialize Markpack, a decision support system he co-developed.
1987-1989	Under David’s leadership as Managing Director, Prism develops industry-specific market simulations for Lucas Industries plc, Norsk Hydro, Der Generale Bank, Ciba Geigy, and Bellcore.
1989	Bellcore contracts Prism to deliver programs to PacificTelesis, Matav (Hungarian Telecom), and members of the technical staff at Bellcore.

Second Generation: Evolution & Specialization

1991	David Gautschi and Darius Sabavala co-develop the Janus Strategy Laboratory® (JSL) for the global information and telecommunications industries and co-found Janus Enterprise International (JEI) in New Providence, NJ.
1991-1999	David and Darius deliver the JSL to Cable & Wireless and France Telecom, both in collaboration with INSEAD; to Deutsche Telekom in a five-year program assisting senior management in adapting to the digital transformation and privatization of the firm; and to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, PRC, to assist senior management in adjusting to the modernization of telecommunications in China.
1999	David leaves Prism to take the JSL into Deloitte & Touche LLP along with his co-founder to assist with the development of the e-business practices of the firm, delivering the JSL to Deloitte clients Microsoft and AVNET
2005-2020	David returns to his academic career, first as Dean of the Lally School of Management & Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and then as Dean of the Graduate School of Business at Fordham University. During this time David delivers the Strategy Laboratory to an executive program for the Three Gorges Dam Development Company, senior administrators at RPI, participants of the Fordham Consortium on the Purpose of Business, and the Fordham Executive MBA and Professional MBA programs.

Third Generation: Rebirth & Expansion

2019-2023	David co-founds Tilt Global, acquires the assets of JEI, and develops the Tilt Global Decision Making Lab (DML) to address management and strategic decision making in response to the global energy transition, delivering the DML to Tilt Global’s inaugural client (a large international electric utility) and to four cohorts of the Fordham Professional MBA program.
2023-present	Development of a commercially launchable version of the DML is completed, and Tilt Global brings on staff to support a market launch.
